The Brewers Association (BA) is pleased to announce the results of the 2013 Board of Directors election. Each member’s new term will start at the first board meeting of the year scheduled for February 2014.
The newly elected board members include:
John Mallett, Bells Brewery, Inc
John Mallett has managed all beer production for Bell’s Brewery in Kalamazoo, MI since 2001. Across his 26 year professional brewing career he has demonstrated a keen interest in brewery technical education and training. He has been Head Brewer of Boston’s Commonwealth Brewery, Brewmaster at the Old Dominion Brewing Co in Ashburn VA and then founded and ran SAAZ, a brewing equipment and service provider for both packaging and pub breweries; some as small as 8 gallon pilot plants, others that produced 800,000 Bbls/year.
Cyrena Nouzille, Ladyface Ale Companie
Cyrena Nouzille’s degree in Biology and passion for design originally led her to a career in exhibit design at The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Later, as a stay-at-home mom, she began homebrewing in 2002, and realized her dream of opening a brewpub in Agoura Hills, California, in the fall of 2009. As a co-founder and general manager of Ladyface Ale Companie – Alehouse & Brasserie®, one of Cyrena’s goals has been to help nurture a sustainable craft beer culture in the greater Los Angeles area. Ladyface is a founding brewery of the new Los Angeles County Brewer’s Guild and is active in local events that help gain traction to create a broader and more knowledgeable beer consumer base. As she continues her own beer education, she enjoys bringing more women into the craft beer world through clubs and event presentations.
Rob Tod, Allagash Brewing
Rob Tod started Allagash Brewing as a one-man operation in 1995 with a small 15 barrel system consisting mostly of dairy tanks and used equipment. First year’s production was about 200 barrels of White beer, which was available in the local Portland, Maine market on draft only. Since then, the brewery has grown to an annual production of nearly 60,000 barrels per year. Since inception, Allagash has focused exclusively on both traditional and experimental Belgian Style ales.
Eric Wallace, Lefthand Brewing Co
Jon Eric Wallace is the President and Co-Founder of Indian Peaks Brewing Company, parent company of Left Hand Brewing Company. Left Hand Brewing was founded by Eric Wallace and Dick Doore on September 21, 1993, and has been crafting a well-balanced portfolio of award-winning beers that are now available in 26 states and 10 countries. Eric was awarded the F.X. Matt Defense of the Industry Award at the Brewers Association’s annual Craft Brewers Conference in April 2009. He was also inducted into the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame in 2012.
