Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild Doubles Conference Attendence

On Friday July 28, the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild (MCBG) presented their Business and Technical Conference in conjunction with the Master Brewers Association of the Americas. Held adjacent to the MCNG’s fundraiser festival, All Pints North, in Duluth, the one day event was attended by nearly 400 people, up from just over 200 the previous year.

The day began with breakfast and a meet and greet alongside a small expo of eight exhibitors. The keynote speaker was Brewers Association Chief Economist Bart Watson, who provided his industry overview, with a focus on the Minnesota market.

Following the keynote were four breakout sessions. Neil Witte, quality ambassador at the Brewers Association, began the first breakout session, sharing resources on elevating quality beer production.

Other speakers covered a range of topics, including self-distribution, sour ales, comparing the wine and beer business and social media planning. The day wrapped up with a closing presentation by John Holl of Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine.
