State brewers guilds will meet Wednesday, September 15th, a day prior to the start of the Great American Beer Festival, at Denver’s Wynkoop Brewing Co. The meeting is planned, annually, for guild leaders in town from all over the country to discuss current issues regarding their home state brewers, as well as an opportunity for the Brewers Association (BA) to update the leaders on the current activities on a federal level.
Current bills proposed in both the House (HR 4278) and Senate (S 3339) are planned to be discussed by Brewers Association staff before opening the floor up to guild leaders. Marc Sorini of McDermott Will & Emery LLP will brief the guild members on the status of the proposed legislation in the House, HR 5034, that the BA and other supplier trade groups have opposed.
The meeting will begin at 5:30 and end prior to the GABF Brewers Gathering that will be held also at the Wynkoop. Craft beers representing state brewers guild will also be featured at the CraftBeer.com presents The Support Your Local Brewery Pavilion inside Great American Beer Festival. There, festival goers will have an opportunity to meet with guild members and sample representing their states small brewers.
