Holland, known to many in the United States for a certain imported beer brand in a green bottle, is changing directions on beer and is now home to a new beer bar that features American craft beers. Rick Kempen, export manager for Bier & Co. Amsterdam, reports that the Beer Temple, the first beer bar (as far as we know) dedicated to American (Craft) Beer, was opened by the American Consul General to The Netherlands on September 9, 2009. She symbolically revealed the tap wall, where 30 tap handles proudly rest. And then she poured a beer—the first beer poured that night was, pretty fittingly, an Anchor Liberty Ale.
Some 150 guests then indulged in the many great brews available, and before you could say cuckoo' it was way past midnight, according to Mr. Kempen.
