More than 4,800 people celebrated the kicked off of the annual Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) with a welcome reception at Denver Broncos’ Mile High Stadium.

This event marks the begining of the conference, bringing together brewing industry professionals from across the U.S. and around the world. Reception attendees were able to sample beer from 65 different Colorado breweries, browse the stadium and even mingle on the field.

CBC, presented by the Brewers Association (BA), is the only industry event that serves both brewpubs and packaging breweries. This year’s event is the biggest yet, with 8,900 attendees. Up ahead is a week of education, networking and finding the latest in industry goods and services.

Wednesday opens with a State of the Industry presentation by BA Director Paul Gatza and Staff Economist Bart Watson, followed by the keynote address by bestselling author Michael Pollan. Attendees will spend Wednesday, Thursday and Friday attending some of the 85 different education seminars. CBC is also home to BrewExpo America®. The industry’s largest tradeshow opens Wednesday and runs two days in the Colorado Convention Center, offering 490 exhibitors.

The week wraps up on Friday with the World Beer Cup® Award Ceremony and Reception.
